Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before getting started

Do I need my own YouTube API key?

Yes — but it's free and takes under 5 minutes. We walk you through the entire setup step-by-step during onboarding.

Is Notion required?

No. You can use YouTube Tracker with just CSV export if you prefer. Notion integration is optional — connect it anytime from your Settings to get daily auto-syncing databases.

How does daily sync work?

Every morning at 3 AM EST, we automatically pull the latest stats for all your tracked channels and update your Notion databases. You wake up to fresh data — no manual work. Free plan users can trigger manual syncs instead.

What data do you track?

For each channel: daily subscriber count, total views, video count, and calculated growth metrics (daily, weekly, monthly changes). For videos: views, likes, comments, upload date, and whether it's a Short or long-form video. Everything is publicly available data.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. No contracts, no annual commitments. Cancel from your billing page and you keep access through the end of your current billing period. Your data stays in your Notion workspace — it belongs to you.

How is this different from Social Blade or VidIQ?

Those tools are great for one-off lookups. YouTube Tracker is built for ongoing monitoring — it tracks competitors daily and puts the data where you actually work (Notion or CSV). No logging into another dashboard. Your competitive intel lives alongside your content plans.
